Back to Sri Lanka

Who would've thought we would have two trips to Sri Lanka? Well, this trip came without much warning. It was a normal day, I was planning to go to the salon as usual. Then we found out that we had to leave the country that very day. Apparently some forms should have been submitted by 30 days after coming into the country. That day marked 30 days and although the forms were taken to immigration that very morning they were unable to be submitted. The reason being that a new policy had changed in immigration where only 50 tokens were given out per day. With 1000 people waiting for a token, we didn't get one thus leaving us only the option of leaving the country. If we had stayed even one day over the 30 days we would have a fine of 1000 dollars per person for every day overdue. This came as a shock and needless to say brought a lot of stress. In a short amount of time we had to process and decide whether we would go straight to Finland or Colombo. There was not enough time to go to Finland on such short notice so Colombo was our best option. Before knew it we were on a plane, still on sure of where we were going to stay. Thankfully the landlord of the place we are staying in Hulhumale had a guesthouse about 25 minutes from the airport and so we managed to stay there for couple nights. Sri Lanka is like a breath of fresh air. The boys were thrilled to be there exploring and we were well fed and thankful for all the kindness shown to us.

Here is a picture of the guesthouse

Ziki enjoyed the rocks

Daddy still impressing me with his climbing skills

 Fresh,sweet and yummy pineapple.

Went to a beach close by and enjoyed the different sand, shells and waves.

 Yummy Sri Lankan food

Reese excited about the fresh tropical fruits with vanilla ice-cream

 Observing the tiny fish

We went to visit the host family for the guesthouse and boys were excited about the car

Their lush garden was so nice and the boys enjoyed running around barefoot checking out every corner.

Tiny guavas which by taste reminded me of the ones back from childhood that we had in Kenya.

An ebony wood tree, some of the strongest/darkest wood around. Reminded me also of Africa and all the wooden sculptures they make with it.

Emmanuel was happy to see where the papayas grow.

The host family for the guesthouse, very kind and friendly. They had a coffee, lime, coconut and orangutan fruit trees growing in their garden. It was so nice to see.
